Kings Meat Deli has become synonymous with quality and service due to the maintenance of our meticulous standards. Our original shop opened its doors in 1993 in Castle Walk and our second branch in Lynnwood Bridge opened in May 2011. We have become somewhat of a landmark in the East because of our famous ceiling of biltong.
Our customers can enjoy browsing all the products on display like our champion boerewors, biltong and dry wors and about 600 kinds of meat delicacies. There are cold meats, cheeses, South African wines and all kinds of home-made sauces and confections to pick and choose from.
Shopping for a gift for a man can be no easier than at Kings Meat Deli where you can even buy hunting, pocket, or biltong knives to go with a delectable piece of biltong, a bottel of fine wine or the popular multi-purpose “Piet se Sous”.
Should you require a special cut of meat, we are always happy to oblige at no additional cost – our extra special service is as free as our friendly atmosphere.
GAME MEAT PROCESSING
Watching a rugby game during hunting season with a fizzy beverage in one hand and a piece of biltong or droewors in the other, is part and parcel of our unique South African culture. Hunting is an exciting, and often also freezing, adventure but is a rather expensive outing as is the subsequent processing of the carcass.
The Kings-men are not only highly skilled in their profession, but are also skilled and enthusiastic hunters which should make us your obvious choice when it comes to the processing of your hunt.
Peripherals such as sausage casings and top quality spices are also expensive, but, because we buy in bulk, we pass the savings on to our clients. Interesting but unknown fact:- sometimes there is a sticky, fatty deposit in your mouth after eating droewors which is the result of kidney fat being used. Kings only uses the best quality fat and you will therefore never have this most undesirable experience!
Our processing service includes hanging and drying if required.
Please feel free to contact us for our expert advice on meat processing and packaging. The balance between what you deliver to us and what we then render back to you will be explained based on percentages lost due to bones, ligaments, moisture, the hide et cetera.
