You will be guided throughout your stay at Melorani by professional hunters who have intimate knowledge of the terrain and species on the reserve. Most of the hunting is done from carefully constructed blinds although walk and stalk is also encouraged. These well-constructed hides blend into the surroundings and are made with natural materials from the immediate area. Prevailing winds, sunlight and position of water and mineral licks are all taken into account during the design stage. Most blinds are permanent but others have to be built annually, depending on water levels in the natural ponds. There are pit blinds, ground blinds, elevated box blinds, pop up blinds as well as tree stands all strategically placed to give the hunter the best opportunites. We can accommodate compound, crossbows and traditional bowhunters, whether right or left handed, big or small. Most shots are within 20 yards.
The enchanting bush camp is set close to a waterhole on a rocky outcrop among large Tambotie trees. The location is captivating – for the first-time visitor this is the real world of the African bush. Five comfortable and well-equipped en-suite rondavels accommodates a maximum of 10 guests. A large open living space under thatch houses the dining area, a lounge-come-trophy room and a cozy lapa where you can relax and enjoy yourself after a successful day on the hunt.
